Procurement of first wind auction in Uzbekistan

In a consortium led by Synergy Consulting, intec has been selected together with Juru Energy as technical advisors by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support The Government of The Republic of Uzbekistan by providing technical, environmental and social advisory services for auctioning of a first wind park project under a competitive bidding process in Uzbekistan.

Dentons is the legal advisor in the Consortium. Beside this first auctioning of its kind in Uzbekistan, the Consortium will also advise on development of a framework for future competitive procurement scheme for renewable energy projects in the country.

The scope of the mandate for the technical advisors covers:

1)    Review and update of existing documents and data from technical, environmental and social point of view

2)    Provide the necessary support for technical, environmental and social matters during the entire tender process until final selection and contracting of the winning IPP; among others, energy yield assessments, grid integration analysis and soil investigations are important parts of our advisory role

4) Technical support for the development of a framework for a competitive procurement scheme for tendering of future renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan

The mandate is another excellent example of a number of technical advisory mandates to utilities and public authorities, intec gained during the last two years, to act as technical advisor for renewable energy procurement schemes, following other mandates in Morocco, Benin, UAE and Afghanistan.
