intec supports EVN and KfW to implement 200MW Photovoltaic project in Vietnam

The two stage Phuoc Thai Solar Power plant project of which the first 50MW are currently being tendered will be one of the first large scale PV installations in the country.

intec will ensure that the project is developed according to high international standards and in compliance with the standards of KfW Development Bank. The feasibility studies which are prepared locally will be reviewed and any possible gaps will be closed following a Due Diligence process.

To support the ambitious plans of integrating increasing amounts of fluctuating renewable energy into the Vietnamese electricity grid, a Grid Integration Study for the project will be carried out. This will enable the utility to assess the influence of the plant on the grid and to adapt their planning and operation accordingly.

After winning the competitive bidding process for the consultancy assignment, the contract with EVN and KfW was signed in the beginning of June 2018 and in the last week of that month intec's team of international and local experts carried out their inception mission to Hanoi and the project area.

intec is happy to use their extensive international experience in making this project a success and a model for future large scale PV projects in Vietnam.
