The overall objective of this Assignment is to support the CARIFORUM Member States - through a qualified pool of experts - with the delivery of professional on-demand technical services in the areas of policy, regulation and electric utility services of member states related to their sustainable energy transition.
Synergy Consulting has been requested by the EBRD to support in preparing and implementing the first site-specific wind auction for 50-150 MW wind power project(s) (“the tender” or “the auction”). This entails: (i) identifying, selecting and preparing suitable site(s) for wind power project(s); (ii) developing and amending associated regulatory documentation and rules for the auction; and (iii) providing support for implementing the auction up to the project financial closure.

The WAPP and the Governments of Mali and Burkina Faso are looking for a Consultant to carry out two technical and financial feasibility studies based on the “Plug & Play” solar park concept in Burkina Faso and Mali. An Addis Ababa Distribution Master Plan (AADMP) has been elaborated which identified a number of rehabilitation, short-term and medium-term subprojects to be undertaken until 2022 and 2034. These subprojects are summarised in the "Addis Ababa Transmission & Distribution System Rehabilitation & Upgrading Project (AATDRUP)". They have been allocated into 4 suitable contract packages.
The project consists of the construction of one 225 kV HV line between Nouakchott and Zouerate and the associated substations. It comprises two lots:
Lot 1: Electric Lines
The general objective of this project is the monitoring and control of costs, of the quality and the time schedule of implementation works. The project includes all site works for the implementation of the National Dispatching Centre. Following EDG's long-term master plan, the National Dispatching Centre shall integrate transmission lines of the 60 and 110 kV level. The project has been interrupted due to the Ebola epidemic and new financing.
The objective of the project is to upgrade and expand distribution and transmission infrastructure for increased access to energy, improved electricity services for the rural population and to contribute to primary energy savings.
The tentative scope of the project is the following:
The project concept design prepared by the Project Executing Agency EVN provides for 200 MWp of solar generation in three phases. The Government of Vietnam has requested financing support from German Financial Cooperation via KfW.
Phase 1 provides for 50 MWp, including DC to 22 kV AC invertors, a control building, access roads and a new 2 x 125 MVA 220/22 step-up substation to interconnect with EVN´s existing 220 kV double circuit transmission line.
In order to increase the effective installed generating capacity in Benin, a program has been established to attract the participation of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to develop, design, construct, operate and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) generation facilities in the country. The program includes the development of an IPP institutional framework and standard forms of contract as well as the execution of a competitive bidding process for GoB.
NOOR Midelt ("NOORM") is the second solar power complex to be developed in the framework of Morocco's NOOR Solar Plan. It covers an area of about 2,400 hectares and is located some 25 km northeast of the city of Midelt. The total capacity shall be between 800-1600 MW, and the plant will comprise different CSP and PV technologies.

Vetroelecktrane is developing and executing, together with their major shareholders Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company-Masdar and Continental Wind Partners (CWP), a wind farm consisting of 57 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) of 110m hub height and 2.8 MW rated power, 86 km 35 kV cables, main transformer station (35 kV/400 kV; 2x 90 MVA), 11 km double circuit 400 kV OHL and corresponding infrastructure.
Tanzania - Rusumo Falls Hydropower Project - Transmission Line Component (Tanzania part of the regional Burundi - Rwanda - Tanzania project)
The "Regional Hydropower Plant Rusumo Falls" project was jointly developed by Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania. It includes the construction of a hydropower plant as well as the construction of 387 km of high-voltage lines and associated substations in the three countries (the present project).

In 2020, the UAE will host the Expo 2020 in Dubai, which site is located adjacent to Al Makthoum International Airport and between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai International Airport. The site covers a total area of 4.38 km², and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 300,000 visitors per day and a total of 25 million visitors.
Tanzania and Kenya have joined forces to construct a 400 kV interconnection line that runs from a proposed 400 kV substation at Isinya near Nairobi in Kenya up to Arusha in Tanzania (210 km) and further to a planned 400 kV substation in Singida (300 km). Works in Kenya comprise the following:
- Lot K1: Approx. 96 km of 400 kV transmission line between Isinya Substation and the Kenya-Tanzania border.
