Nigeria - Integrated Energy Supply Project at Abuja Technology Village Free Zone
ATV is the master developer of Abuja Technology Village, a science and technology park and special economic zone which is intended to become a preferred technology research, incubation, development and outsourcing destination, hosting biotechnology, information and communications, energy and minerals technology companies.
Energy supply, transmission and distribution are required for the site within which a cluster area of approx. 100 ha will be developed initially.

Ghana - 100 MW Solar Project in Nyimbale - Sankana
Home Energy Africa (HEA) has obtained a siting clearance approval from the Energy Commission of Ghana for the installation of a 100 MW solar PV plant at Sankana, Nadowli-Kaleo District, Upper West Region. The site has a size of 200 hectares and shall be connected via a 161 kV power line. The electricity that will be produced by the planned PV plant shall be sold to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
HEA has retained the clean energy financial advisor GreenMax Capital Advisors to manage the solicitation of the different services required for the development of the above plant.

Mongolia - Thermal Power Plant #4, Ulaanbaatar (Consulting Services for Modernization and Rehabilitation)
The project encompasses the modernisation and rehabilitation of the Russian design coal-fired Thermal Power Plant # 4 in Ulaanbaatar, which is the largest power plant in Mongolia, supplying electricity and heat to more than one third of the Mongolian population, i.e. approx. 1.1 million people. It generates more than 70% of the electricity for the central energy system. The plant consists of eight coal-fired boilers of 480 t/h that feed six turbines (1 x 80 and 5 x 100 MW). Steam is extracted for district heating and industrial use. The plant runs on middle-grade lignite from the Bangannur and Shivee-Ovoo mines. Project measures should achieve an increase of available capacity by 11.7 MW, a decrease of specific coal consumption and a reduction of the CO2 emissions.

The objective of the FWC was to provide, via individual assignments defined and contracted through Specific Contracts, short-term expertise at very short notice.

Poland - Polish SME Sustainable Energy Financing Facility ("PolSEFF")
Background: The EBRD places special emphasis on supporting investments that improve energy efficiency or promote renewable energy and has highlighted Poland's potential for sustainable energy investment as a priority in the Bank's country strategy for Poland. Energy prices in Poland are increasing, and significant amounts of energy are wasted through out-dated and inefficient equipment and a lack of monitoring and control devices. Through SEFFs (Sustainable Energy Financing Facilities), the EBRD can reach smaller projects to which it cannot lend directly. Each credit line is supported by a substantial and complex technical assistance package that builds capacity in the local market and helps investors and local PFIs (participating financial intermediaries) overcome some of the barriers that hinder the implementation of these investments
Objectives of the Project: PolSEFF is expected to create a self-sustaining market for investment in sustainable energy projects in the Polish SME sector. This will be achieved by ensuring that PFIs become familiar with appraising and financing eligible energy efficiency and small renewable energy investment projects, SMEs become aware of the competitive advantages of such investments, local experts have the technical expertise to assist SMEs in identifying and preparing technically feasible, bankable projects.
Project Tasks:
- Component 1: Marketing and awareness raising for investments in sustainable energy projects
- Component 2: Training and capacity building to project financing institutes, local engineers and SMEs
